Shift Happens...

At The EDGE Endurance Training Center (EETC), we are all about being on the cutting-edge of performance training technology, and have a thorough understanding that our clients don't have hours and hours to devote to training when they have a zillion other obligations...So, how can we provide our clients with the best possible training in the least amount of time?

Well, being the innovators we are, we decided that the best way to serve our clients' needs was to develop a drive-through fitness window! That's right! You just drive right up, order, and be on your way! It's quick, convenient, and the most efficient way to get the quality training you need without the hassle of walking into a gym!

Customer: "Yes, can I please order a full set of bicep curls; hold the eccentric component? Also, can I have a large helping of cardio, with a side of kettle bell squats?"
Edge Staff: "Yes, sir! Your total is $6.78. Please pull around to the next window..."

Now, what a fantastic concept--right?! Apparently, this guy thought so too and decided to ram his vehicle right into the back-side of our building...

For those of you who may not sense my underlying sarcasm...We are not actually developing a drive-through fitness window, but a guy did legitimately drive his car into our building...

Apparently, the gentleman was driving around with a dysfunctional brake-system, and was seeking a "safe place" to "stop." Luckily, no one was injured (even though, Jennifer Bennett and I were painting inches away from the collision), and we plan to have the sucker all patched up by the weekend--just in time for the fireworks!

You know, we all have set backs (including our treadmill that arrived "severely damaged" and was sent back to the company...so we continue to wait for the arrival of a new replacement...), but it's how you deal with that adversity that determines character and success. Sure, we could have loathed around, decided it was the end of the world, and given up--just as some athletes do after a bad race or workout--but that's not going to solve the problem. We must be rational and remain positive. We must shake it off, look at our options, and embrace a new tomorrow! You can't stop the rain, but you can take out your umbrella!

Plus, we will totally have so much more ventilation now when we perspire all over our edge-tremely nifty LifeFitness functional trainer and brand-spankin' new BOSU balls, dumbbells, medicine balls, and Power Systems stability balls! It's going to take more than a car to knock through these rock-solid abs! :]P

If We Build It, They Will Come...

The renovation of The Edge Endurance Training Center has (finally) been initiated! Remnants of what-once-had-been "Labor Ready" have been swept into trash bags, mopped with Simple Green, and are soon-to-be painted over with several coats of Butternut Squash yellow...Except the "security system" (a wooden Louisville Slugger)...The numerous 400 lb. rolls of flooring arrived today via truck...without a dolly [That's what I said]...Nonetheless, we prevailed once more; eager to slap paint on the walls and begin construction on the massage room as we await the arrival of our kick-edge treadmill, functional trainer, and oodles of bands, medicine balls, kettle bells, dumbbells, and a slew of goodies that will just leave your head spinning! Now, what color to paint the powder rooms?
